Jeron X. Grayson Community Center (JXGCC)

The Center that CARES has taken an important step in its mission by acquiring the former Ozanam Community Center in the Hill District, creating a space dedicated to uplifting middle and high school students and their families. This moment comes in the wake of the heartbreaking loss of Jeron X. Grayson, late son of the Executive Director, to gun violence.

More than a tribute, the Jeron X. Grayson Community Center (JXGCC) embodies Jeron's passion, energy, and hope for a brighter future.

Our mission is to empower young people to live meaningful, purposeful lives, and to become positive forces in their communities. This center stands as a living legacy, showing that with hope, preparation, and self-direction, challenges can be overcome, and a future free from violence is possible.

The Main Dining Room affectionately known as Granville Banquet Hall truly shows Jeron X. Grayson Community Center’s beauty with its beautiful and unique 8 foot glass chandelier sparkling over the room. It has an unbelievable ambiance during sunsets and is ideal for a range of events from weddings and banquets to birthday parties and graduation celebrations. Granville Banquet Hall can seat between to 100-120 guests for a ceremony and 150 people for a reception.

It has full alcohol permits and can offer many beverage alternatives for you and your guests as well as a full commercial kitchen for use as a warming station in order to keep buffets or hors d’oeuvres fresh. There’s also a stage adequate for the main wedding party, DJ or live band. It also has 4 flat screen displays and a smart board available for use.

If an outdoor ceremony or event is what you imagine, then our rooftop deck can make it a reality. This beautifully landscaped area is framed by our spectacular panoramic view of the city while offering seclusion amongst the breathtaking greenery and can accommodate 120 – 150 ceremony guests.

Terrace – Rooftop Deck

The deck is located on the side of the building and spans across the rear providing easy access to and from the terrace. It’s the perfect place for a sunset cocktail hour or social luncheon and particularly amazing for weddings or banquets. The space also offers a flat screen television for collages.

The Media Room includes enough space for a beverage and buffet station and can be opened or closed off from the outside patio with fountain and can accommodate up to 80 guests. This room has large glass windows that provide both visibility and access to our patio.

Media Room

This charming room features a baby grand piano, authentic pine flooring, a kitchenette, 4 flat screen displays, and a smart board. It makes a great place for an intimate indoor wedding and is also commonly utilized for meetings and the Granville Banquet Hall overflow.

Computer Lab

State of the art computer lab has 18 computers and 2 printers. It is ideal for training seminars and the smart board is also available for use.
